Is this a scam?
StateOwed is a private company, not the State Treasurer. Do not rely on our word alone: verify the possible property directly at yourmoney.ok.gov and compare our published contact details with the letter or call you received.
Why does the state have my money?
A business may transfer property to Oklahoma after losing contact with its owner. The state holds it until a valid claim is approved.
What do you charge?
Our fee is stated in a written agreement and paid only from a recovery. Oklahoma law caps a finder's fee at 25% of what is actually recovered.
Do I pay up front?
No. There is no up-front cost. If nothing is recovered, you owe nothing.
How do you know my name?
Your name may appear in an unclaimed-property record published by an official Oklahoma state source. We work from those official records and never from scraped lists.
What if the owner has died?
An estate or heir may be able to claim the property, but Oklahoma may require additional documents. The state decides what evidence is needed for each claim.
